Punjab ENVIS Hub is a part of decentralised network of Environmental Information System (ENVIS), a Pan India Scheme of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India with the purposes of collection, collation, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information relating to a variety of themes associated with Environment Sector.

The Punjab ENVIS Hub is working on ‘Status of Environment & Related Issues’ of Punjab State. The ENVIS Scheme was launched in Punjab in 2002 as a node and was upgraded to ENVIS Centre in 2005.

Further, under restructuring and revamping of the ENVIS scheme in remaining 3 years of the completion of the 12^th Five Year Plan (2012-17) i.e. 2017-18 to 2019-20, the ENVIS Centre has been renamed as ENVIS Hub with expanded mandate and is now a Decision Support System.
